So in the south, we’re notorious for having two seasons: hot and cold. Usually we skip spring and fall– the transition seasons. One weekend I’ll be wearing a sweater and Uggs, and the next weekend I’ll be wearing a tank top and flip flops. It can be a real struggle. This brings us to the question, what in the hell am I supposed to wear when it suddenly decides to be 75 degrees in February? Theoretically, I should still have at least four more weeks of leggings and leather jacket weather. So no one was more confused (or excited) than I was to discover that South Carolina is actually experiencing a spring! All the praise hands, y’all.
My current go-to for this transition weather: shorts. It gives me an excuse to shave my legs, which makes my husband happy– so it’s a win win! If I’m doing shorts, I usually will pair it with a top with sleeves– just because I can’t go cray yet and be all shorts and sleeveless; even though I totally did that last week (for pictures though– not for an outfit I’d wear in public…not just yet).
But if I am feeling a sleeveless top, then I pair it with some skinnies. White denim and anything distressed are my go-to’s currently.
This long-sleeved top is light and flowy– perfect for mom bods. And the details are super cute. Scalloped hem for the win! I’m a sucker for a scalloped hem. So feminine and southern. Seriously, swoon. Add a Kendra Scott necklace (similar), Kate Spade sunnies (you can shop those at the bottom of this post!), and my favorite strappy Sam Edelman sandals (similar), and you’ve got the perfect transition weather look. Super easy and fun.
