If you had told me three years ago that I would be wearing white denim after Labor Day, I would have laughed in your face. Wearing white after Labor Day goes against everything we learned in Southern Style 101. It was practically beaten into my head growing up. But I’ve got good news for all of you rebels out there.
Wanna wear white after Labor Day? GO FOR IT! It’s a thing now. Times they are a-changing, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. For one, white goes with everything. Duh. And two, white pants just make a girl look fancy.
I love white because I’m a firm believer in the “if you spill something on a white piece, pour a little bleach on it and throw it in the washing machine” philosophy. Add a little hairspray, and I’ve yet to come across a spot that I can’t get out if I really really try. Thus, white is totes practical for life with messy boys. (Did I just say totes?…)
Throw on a loose tee, necklace, and some rain boots, and voila! A little deviation from the momiform. Once again, it’s so basic. Are we noticing a theme here? Oh, and a blanket scarf to keep me warm– only it makes my neck sweat which is annoying. Gotta love those postpartum hormones. I promise I’m not as angry as I look in the pictures; the sun was in my eyes, and I was probably being told to hurry up because we had to leave for a residency interview. Totally not conducive to my career as a fashion blogger.
